Serial Butt Sniffer and Sex offender
Calese Carron Crowder, 39, a registered sex offender with a history of similar incidents in Glendale and Burbank, was arrested again Friday in Glendale and is being held without bail. The latest reports were published Monday, August 31, 2026.
What happened in Glendale
- When: Friday afternoon, August 28, around 3:30 p.m.
- Where: Two Glendale businesses — one in the 1500 block of West Glenoaks Boulevard and a Marshalls near South Brand Boulevard and East Broadway.
- Police received reports of a man hunkered down and getting unusually close to customers, allegedly attempting to sniff women from behind.
- Officers reviewed surveillance video from both businesses and identified the suspect as Crowder.
- He was later located in the 100 block of South Brand Boulevard and arrested.
- Authorities say he was arrested on suspicion of violating the terms of his parole.
- Jail records show he is being held without bail.
Why this arrest is significant
Crowder has a documented history of similar incidents dating back to 2021 in Glendale and Burbank. He became widely known online after a 2023 video filmed inside a Burbank Barnes & Noble appeared to show him crouching behind a woman and attempting to sniff her.
In July 2025, Burbank police arrested him after surveillance allegedly showed him following a woman at a Nordstrom Rack, crouching behind her and sniffing her. He was arrested again the following month after another alleged incident at a Burbank Walgreens.
According to reporting on his previous case, Crowder later admitted violating his parole and was sentenced to 135 days in Los Angeles County Jail in September 2025.
