Rapper Common visits LA jail to encourage voter registration

Rap Artist Common visits LA county Jails to help register inmates who are eligible to vote. There are more than 17,000 people incarcerated in the LA County system, and more than 63 percent of them – at least 10,000 people – are eligible to vote, according to the ACLU. The American Civil Liberties Union which is a nonprofit organization whose stated mission is “to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States.
