Onion Bloom

Ingredients:
1 Sweet Onion
1 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 cup Corn starch
1 tbsp. Seasoning Salt
1 tsp black pepper
1 tsp Garlic powder
1 tsp paprika
2 egg
1 cup milk
3 cups Vegetable oil
Directions:
- Heat vegetable oil on medium heat, use a deep fryer (if you have one) with min or max cooking oil per fryer instructions or use a Medium deep pot add 3 cups of cooking oil
- In a large bowl mix together all the dry ingredients
- In a separate large bowl whisk the milk and egg
- While the oil is heating cut the pointed top of the onion off then place that cut top onto a cutting board and slice down the onion from bottom core down to the top which should be facing downward, cut around the onion until it looks like the picture below
- Now turn over onion top up, fray the petals gently and place the Sweet onion in the dry ingredients first and coat well
- Then carefully with a slotted spatula move the onion into the bowl of egg and milk mixture use a spoon to cover entire onion even between the petals
- Repeat step 5 shake off excess dry ingredients
- Deep fry until golden brown 10-14 min.
- Garnish with fresh parsley, use any dipping sauce of your choice and serve its absolutely delish!
