In an effort to increase the use of UV protective eyewear, The Vision Council has utilized National Sunglasses Day as a launching point for its UV campaign. Through media briefings, social media, and a petition asking consumers pledge to wear sunglasses on June 27th – and encourage others to do the same – The Vision Council garnered over 40 million impressions in one 24-hour period alone, turning National Sunglass Day into a major nationwide initiative.
