LA Marathon 2026
The ASICS Los Angeles Marathon will take place on Sunday, March 8, 2026, marking the 41st running of one of the largest and most celebrated road races in the United States. Held annually in Los Angeles, the marathon attracts more than 26,000 runners from around the world. The 2026 race date was selected in part to avoid a scheduling conflict with the Academy Awards, ensuring the city can fully support both major events.
Organized by The McCourt Foundation, the marathon is more than a race—it is a community-wide celebration of health, endurance, and civic pride. Race weekend runs from March 6 through March 8 and features several events designed for participants of all ages and abilities. Festivities begin on Friday with the free Lifestyle Expo and bib pick-up at Dodger Stadium, where runners can explore vendors, gear, and race information. Saturday includes the LA 5K and LA Kids Run, offering shorter distances for families and youth. The weekend culminates Sunday morning with the full 26.2-mile marathon and the LA Charity Half Marathon.
Often referred to as the “Stadium to the Stars” course, the marathon begins at Dodger Stadium and winds through many of Los Angeles’ most iconic neighborhoods. Runners pass through Downtown Los Angeles, Echo Park, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, and Brentwood before finishing in Century City at Santa Monica Boulevard and Avenue of the Stars. The race officially begins at 7:00 a.m., and participants have a total time limit of six hours and thirty minutes to complete the course.
Finishers receive a commemorative medal and an official race shirt, symbols of their accomplishment and dedication. Along the route, spectators line the streets to cheer runners on, while live entertainment and cheer zones create an energizing atmosphere. The event also offers opportunities for charitable fundraising, allowing participants to run on behalf of nonprofit organizations and causes they support.
With its scenic urban course, typically mild March weather, and enthusiastic community support, the ASICS Los Angeles Marathon continues to stand as a signature sporting event in Southern California. Whether competing for a personal record, running for charity, or simply aiming to cross the finish line, participants experience a powerful journey through the heart of Los Angeles.
