Grand Park DTLA Dia de Los Muertos Day of the Dead
Grand Park celebrates the traditions of Día de los Muertos in partnership with Self-Help Graphics & Art (@shg1970) and @LOREMediaandArts, featuring 40+ altars and art installations created by local artists and community groups.
The week-long celebration kicks off on SAT OCT 27 with Noche de Ofrenda. This year’s #NochedeOfrenda will feature @Quetzalmusic and include the official unveiling of Grand Park’s Día de los Muertos altars and art installations, including the community altar by altarista Ofelia Esparza (@ofrenda1).
They will remain in the park through SUN NOV 4. Free lunchtime altar tours will highlight the artwork and traditions of the holiday.
In conjunction with Grand Avenue Arts: All Access, family-friendly activities on SAT NOV 3 will include altar-making workshops with altaristas Ofelia Esparza (@ofrenda1) and Rosanna Ahrens (@sannazan) and Danza workshops with Jeniffer Sanchez💀
And new this year! Grand Park’s Baile de los Muertos, a Saturday evening (11/3) dance celebration with next level rhythms by the @SUBSUELOcrew and special guest performances by @ElConjuntoNuevaOla, Julio y su Teclado Mágico and @IreneDiazmusic 💃🏽💀 #DowntownDia #DíadelosMuertos #free
