Groundhog Day
Update: Six More weeks of Winter
Every year in February crowds gather to watch the emerge of the Groundhog. Groundhog Day is tied to the seasons for a very important reason it started in the 1800s, when a couple of Pennsylvanians went out to the woods to see if the groundhogs had woken up for spring yet. Groundhog Day originated in the United States and is celebrated on February 2, according to folklore, if it is cloudy when a groundhog emerges from its burrow on this day, then the spring season will arrive early, if it is sunny, the groundhog will supposedly see its shadow and retreat back into its den, and winter weather will persist for six more weeks.
