2028 Olympics in L.A. Ticket Purchase & Registration
Ticket sales for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles have become a major topic of public interest as organizers begin to outline how fans around the world will be able to attend one of the most anticipated global sporting events. While tickets are not yet on sale, officials have released key details about the registration process, pricing structure, and overall strategy aimed at making the Games accessible to a wide audience.
According to organizers, the first step for fans will be a ticket registration process, which is scheduled to open on January 14, 2026. Rather than a traditional first-come, first-served sale, LA28 will use a randomized ticket draw system. Individuals who register during the open window will be entered into a lottery, and those selected will receive a designated time slot during which they can purchase tickets. Registration is expected to run through March 2026, with ticket purchase windows opening later in the spring. Tickets for the Paralympic Games will follow a similar process, with sales expected to begin in 2027.
Affordability has been a central focus of the LA28 organizing committee. Officials have announced that at least one million tickets will be priced at $28, a symbolic figure tied to the year of the Games. In addition, approximately one-third of all tickets will cost under $100, a move designed to ensure that local residents, families, and young fans can attend events across a range of sports. This pricing strategy reflects an effort to avoid the criticism faced by previous host cities, where high ticket prices limited public access.
The ticket purchasing experience will be entirely digital and managed through official ticketing partners. Once selected in the draw, buyers will be able to choose from available events during scheduled ticket releases, sometimes referred to as “ticket drops.” Organizers have also indicated that certain local residents near Olympic venues may receive priority access during early sales phases, though final details are still being finalized.
For now, fans are encouraged to monitor official LA28 communications and prepare to register when the window opens in early 2026. While no tickets are currently available for purchase, the announcement of low-cost options and a transparent draw-based system has generated optimism that the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics will be one of the most accessible Games in modern Olympic history.
