The 2022 ROSE PARADE THEME IS DREAM. BELIEVE. ACHIEVE… The Pasadena Tournament of Roses, America’s New Year’s Celebration begins at 8:00 am PST on January 1, 2022, in Pasadena, California and televised for millions of people around the world, the Rose Parade is an iconic New Year’s Day tradition. The Rose Parade travels 5 ½ miles down Colorado Blvd. and features four types of entries: floral-decorated floats entered by a participating corporation, non-profit organization or municipality, equestrian units, bands, and Tournament entries. Rose Parade participants have long histories with the Tournament of Roses and keep the traditions alive.

Tournament of Roses
In the days leading up to the New Year, more than 800,000 people from all over the world converge onto Pasadena to witness the Tournament of Roses and millions of others watch from all over the world because it is covered by several television networks. While the Tournament of Roses is made up of several events, the two most famous events are the 133rd Rose Parade presented by Honda and the 108th Rose Bowl Game presented by Capital One Venture X.
The Rose Parade, a 133 year tradition brings residents and visitors together on New Year’s Day (unless it falls on a Sunday) to watch grand floats covered in flowers, massive marching bands that can exceed 300 members, and equestrian units like the Anheuser-Busch Budweiser Clydesdales. The 2022 theme for the Tournament of Roses is “Dream. Believe. Achieve.” celebrating education.
Parade Route
The parade route is 5.5 miles (9 km) and begins at the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard in Pasadena. The route travels north on Orange Grove Boulevard at a leisurely pace and then turns east onto Colorado Boulevard. Near the end of the route, the parade turns north onto Sierra Madre Boulevard and concludes at Villa Street.
Parade Seating
There are a couple of ways to experience the parade; you can purchase tickets to sit in bleachers (grandstand seats); or you can camp out for a free spot in designated areas throughout the route.
Transportation and Parking
Parking sells out each year, for the best experience make sure to arrange parking ahead of time. Consider taking the Metro Gold Line, it is a light rail train that runs between East Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley (Pasadena is at the center of the route).
