Want to be a DJ LA County Library Free DJ Lab
Learn to DJ with a Real Pro! The Turns the Tables series is a free beginner’s 10-week DJ course for young adults ages 15-21.
This first started at Compton Library, the free DJ workshop covers essential DJ skills and business training to help you start your own music career. As part of the curriculum, the workshop also offers students the opportunity to perform at the end of the course to show off their skills.

Registration ends Wednesday, August 22 and classes start Friday, August 24, 2018, 4 pm – 6 pm.
This experience has catapulted the likes of DJ Pricetag and DJ Runaway have been wowing crowds since their respective debuts at LA County Library’s Turns the Tables DJ showcases in 2017. After learning the craft of DJing through the Library’s workshops, these young, up-and-coming DJs have been performing at public events, including library grand openings, community concerts, a special feature at the Ford Theatres, Grand Park’s New Year’s Eve LA celebration, and Grand Park’s Our L.A. Voices spring arts festival. They recently participated in a collaboration between LA County Library and Madison Public Library, expressing their perspectives on social justice through music. Accompanying the teen DJs is MākMō, LA County Library’s maker mobile. MākMō vehicles deliver high and low-tech STEAM learning activities—like computer coding, robotics, and more—to all ages, at venues throughout LA County.
