A Floating Cinema Equipped With Social Distancing Boats Is Coming To Los Angeles! Does social distancing have you feeling cooped up for the summer and yearning to watch a movie away from your home? Well, we know what will get you out of the couch during this fall season.
A floating cinema is coming to Los Angeles this September! And yes, by floating, we mean on the water!
The Australian event company, Beyond Cinema, announced that they will be returning to the US with a “twist” to the movie theater experience. For one week only, visitors will be able to purchase their mini boat, which will fit up to eight of their pals, and watch a film from it. The cinema will be made up of 12 to 24 mini boats, with safe social distancing between each one.
Many companies have been attempting to find new ways for audience members to enjoy a great movie amidst the pandemic. With the resurgence of drive-in movie theaters, the next best (safe) thing is this new boat-in cinema. The schedule will be announced when tickets go on sale.
The location, prices and movie lineup have not been revealed at this time! But, according to Beyond Cinema’s website, movie-goers can expect a mix of golden oldens and new releases. Guests will also get free popcorn and other movie snacks, while drinks will be available to purchase before they set sail.
The Floating Cinema will be docking in Los Angeles from September 2- September 6!

Floating Cinema is back, but this time with a twist! This unique cinema is coming to Los Angeles on 2nd September for one week only!
The cinema will be made up of 12 to 24 mini boats, holding up to 8 people per boat. Tickets will require you to purchase the whole boat to ensure that groups will be seated with friends and family only, and to allow for social distancing on and between boats!
Movies are set to be a mix of golden oldies and new releases but will be announced when tickets go on sale! There will be free popcorn for everyone attending, and other movie snacks and drinks will be available to purchase before you set sail.
